The histori of education is as varied as the values and ideologies that have dominated society at various times throughout history. At The School Museum you can join an exciting journey through the history of Norwegian schools - and the history of Norwegian society - from medieval times to the current day. The School Museum is located in the old Bergen Cathedral School, which it shares with the Holberg Museum.
Ludvig Holberg is the school's most famous alumnus, and the Holberg Museum lets you experience this fascinating comedy writer, historian and educator from his childhood as a young pupil in Bergen until his death at his large estate in Denmark, by then a wealthy and distinguished author. In the cosy and unusual exhibition rooms you will get to learn more about this diverse, intelligent and humorous man. The Holberg Museum is a collaboration between creative museum developers and modern research units and is a new addition the Bergen's museum scene.
