Welcome to Bymuseet i Bergen

We invite you to visit a number of Bergen’s acclaimed tourist sights and important cultural monuments.

Bymuseet i Bergen welcomes over 200 000 visitors annually, and manages over one hundred antiquarian buildings and approximately 170 000 objects and photos. Our museums are: Old Bergen Museum, The King Håkon’s Hall, The Rosenkrantz Tower, Bryggens Museum, The School-/Holberg Museum, The Leprosy Museum, Damsgård Country Mansion, Alvøen Manor and The Hordamuseum.
Our main season is from the middle of May until the middle of September. We aim to give you the best museum experience possible, and do appreciate requests all year round.

We are building a new medieval archaeological exhibition at Bryggens Museum

Bryggens Museum will be closed for construction of a new medieval archaeological exhibition from 4 September 2018 to May 2019.

The Rosenkrantz Tower

In the coming years, Statsbygg will secure this heritage site by restoring the roof and facades. The Rosenkrantz Tower is open to the public during the working period.
