Damsgård Country Mansion

This classical summer house exhibits house and gardens.

Damsgård Country Mansion has been a visible landmark at Laksevåg since early 1700s.  Between 1983 and 1993 the buildings were restored and the gardens re-created.

Each room tells a story; paint, wallpaper and decor show trends that were leading and typical in a Bergen mansion of it's period. Furniture and other objects are correct according to history and carry with them stories that connect them to Damsgård.

The gardens within the walls are re-created according to traditions and expectations to a Bergen recreational home of the 1700s. Shape, choice of plants, decor and maintanance reflect the grandeur of the mansion. A garden is a living exhibition that changes through the seasons and can normally be visited again and again from May to September.
