Hordamuseet is an open-air museum with several historic buildings. In our visitor center there are 3 permanent as well as temprary exhibitions.

"The Fisherman Farmer" tells the stories of traditional way of life in coast and fjordareas of Hordaland.

"The Tapestry Exhibition" consists of ten large tapestries woven by the famous textile artist Ragna Breivik. She drew inspiration and found her motifs from and old Norwegian folksong.

The Boathall contains a large collection of wooden boats from Hordaland and Sogn- og Fjordane. The exhibition shows the importance of western boat-traditions and you can see how the boats were made and used.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, Hordamuseet houses several temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
